Privacy Policy

Snapix is built privacy-first. The Mac app processes everything on your device, and this website collects only what it needs to run your account and subscription. This policy explains both.
The Snapix Mac app
Your screenshots, annotations, extracted text (OCR), and capture history are processed and stored entirely on your Mac. They are never uploaded, and we never see them.
Other than that, the app connects only to keep your account and subscription working, and deliver app updates. Your screenshots, images, and OCR text are never sent.
What this website collects
- Account details. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address to create and identify your account. If you use Sign in with Apple's private email relay, we only ever see the relay address.
- Subscription data. We store your plan status and the identifiers needed to manage your subscription.
- Cookies. One keeps you signed in. Google Analytics sets another, which the next section explains.
Website analytics
To understand how the site is actually used — and to make it better rather than guess — we use three analytics tools: Ahrefs Web Analytics, PostHog (hosted in the EU) and Google Analytics. Between them they record page views, feature usage, performance measurements, error reports and session replays of the pages you visit. A couple of those — using one of the free tools, and starting a download — are recorded by our own servers rather than sent from your browser, so we can count them accurately.
Each of them keeps a random identifier in your browser so we can tell
that someone returning a few days later is the same visitor rather
than a new one, and therefore whether the site actually helped them.
Ahrefs sets nothing at all, PostHog's identifier is kept in local
storage, and Google Analytics stores its own in a cookie
(_ga) that lasts up to two years. Each identifier is a
random string — it carries no name, email or address, it is only ever
used on this site, and clearing your browser's cookies and site data
for snapix.app deletes them. Google Analytics runs with Google's
advertising features switched off, so it never builds an advertising
profile of you or follows you to other sites.
Alongside it we store one more thing, once: how you first found us — the site that linked you here, the page you landed on, and any campaign tag that was in the link. We keep the site's address, never the full web address of the page you came from. It is recorded on your first visit and then left alone, so we can tell which articles and links actually bring people who go on to use Snapix. Clearing your site data deletes this too.
While you are signed in, we link that activity to your account, so we can see where real people get stuck between signing in, subscribing and using the dashboard, and fix it. Alongside your activity we record the shape of your account — whether you're on a trial or a paid plan, when the trial ends, the country and currency your price is set in, and the day you signed up — and the moments your subscription starts, is cancelled or ends. Some of that is sent by our own servers rather than your browser, because payment confirmations arrive from Stripe directly. We never attach your name or email address to any of it. Signing out unlinks the activity again. This is our own product analytics — we don't use it for advertising and we don't share it beyond the providers named here.
Emails we send
We use your address for two kinds of message. Service email is tied to your account — signing up, billing, security, and changes to your subscription — and is sent for as long as the account exists. Optional email is anything else we send about the product; you can turn it off at any time from your dashboard, and doing so leaves service email untouched. Payment receipts come from Stripe.
Delivery is handled by Resend, which receives your address and the message so it can send it.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, which acts as the merchant of record. Your card details are entered with and held by Stripe — we never see or store them. Stripe's handling of your payment information is governed by its own privacy policy.
What we don't do
We don't run advertising trackers, we don't follow you onto other sites, we don't sell your data, and we don't share it except with the providers above (Apple, Google — sign-in and analytics, Stripe, Resend, PostHog, Ahrefs) strictly to provide and improve the service. Analytics never sees the content you work with — not in the app, and not in the browser tools.
Your choices
You can cancel your subscription anytime from your dashboard, and turn off product emails there or from the unsubscribe link in any message we send. To request access to or deletion of your account data, contact us at support@snapix.app.
