Capture
Snapix offers five capture modes accessible from the menu bar or global hotkeys: area capture with pixel-precise crosshairs (⌘⇧4), window capture (⌘⇧5), full-screen capture (⌘⇧3), last-area repeat (⌘⇧6), and a self-timer (⌘⇧8). During an area capture, tap Space to flip between the crosshair and the window picker — the same toggle you know from macOS. The screen stays live while you select — turn on screen freezing in Settings if you want everything to hold still while you drag — and every hotkey is customizable, no Accessibility permission required. Screen capture uses macOS’s Screen Recording permission, requested once and used only at the moment you capture.

Extract text (OCR)
Snapix extracts text from any region of your Mac screen using Apple’s Vision framework in accurate mode with automatic language detection. Press ⌘⇧2, drag a selection over any screen content — a paused video, a PDF, a Slack message, an error dialog — and the recognized text is copied line-by-line to your clipboard in under a second. Recognition runs on-device and offline: both the image and the extracted text stay right on your Mac. It’s the fastest way to go from screenshot to text — or copy text from any image — on a Mac.
